The Warsaw School of Economics Students' Independent Monthly "Magiel" is well-known among the students of our University. It was established in December 1995 on students' own initiative. At first, it was copied on a xerox machine in only a few hundred copies. Thanks to enthusiasm and determination "Magiel" has gradually developed since then, becoming one of the leading student media in Poland.
"Magiel's" content consists of information concerning Warsaw School of Economics, students' organisations and students' hobbies. "Magiel" is divided into sections, such as Movies, Music, Books, etc. More than a half of "Magiel" comprises of so called cultural sections, where young journalists review concerts, spectacles, books and express their opinions on students' life in Warsaw. We interview people of students' interest, including politicians. Working together while creating "Magiel" gives us the opportunity to share our interests with others, meet new intriguing people and become friends with such that could be found nowhere else. "Magiel" enables us to improve our journalistic workshop, as well as PR and marketing skills. Apart from articles and the promotion of "Magiel", we are involved in a couple of events, for example the Media Student conference for student media from all over Poland, or Fair of Economic Publications (Targi Wydawnictw Ekonomicznych). The Warsaw School of Economics Students' Independent Monthly "Magiel" is published in 4000 copies, 7 times a year. It is distributed at our University free of charge as all costs are covered by advertisers. Stowarzyszenie Akademickie MagPress is the publisher of "Magiel".
